Fozzy Show With Ugly Kid Joe In London Sells Out!

The Fozzy show at the Underworld in London June 6 with Ugly Kid Joe sold out in record time!

Interview: Rich ‘The Duke’ Ward – Fozzy (10/11/11)

The Duke Of Metal & Overall Nice Guy.

During their recent European tour which saw Fozzy hit North Wales for the first time in the bands history, we had a nice cosy chat with their lead guitarist – none other than Rich Ward, about how things are going in the Fozzy camp, their rockin’ set at this years Sonisphere Festival and what lies ahead in 2012.

Sean: Hey Rich, so how’s the tour going so far?
Rich: Great, great. Today’s the halfway point, everybody’s healthy, everyone’s doing great. No-one’s punched each other and there’s been no crazy drunken debauchery, it’s just been good rock and roll. The band’s been playing really well, crowds have been good and everyone kept telling us that the economy’s been mad and that attendance has been down, but we haven’t seen it, it’s been great for us. Knock on wood! Life’s been good.

Sean: So, how’s the crowd/fans taken to Fozzy this year?
Rich: It’s good, you know it’s our fourth time back on the same record (2010′s ‘Chasing The Grail‘) to the UK. So what we thought we would do on this tour was to hit smaller markets that we hadn’t hit in the past, like playing here in Wrexham (for the first time). So we’re doing these smaller towns and it’s good because you know how it is, the only thing you do when you come to the UK is play Cardiff, London, Manchester and Glasgow. A lot of the fans won’t have an opportunity or it’s going to be much more expensive for them because they’ll have to travel so we’re trying to do all these markets that we haven’t hit before and meet some new folks!

Reviews of “My Kung Fu Is Good”

In early 2005, performing under the stage name “The Duke”, Rich Ward released My Kung Fu is Good, his debut solo album with Spitfire Records, which grew from demos he had recorded the previous year and performances at the Atlantis Music Conference in Atlanta, Ga.

The album received positive reviews, with Billboard magazine stating, “Evolution and growth that exceeds most of the rock acts currently cluttering the airwaves.”
